interTabs is a browser extension, a Mac app, an iPhone and iPad app (interTabs Connect), and a website made by interfinity Limited ("we", "our", or "us"). This policy explains what information interTabs handles, why, who else processes it, and the choices you have.
In short: to group and name your tabs, interTabs sends the titles and addresses of the tabs involved to our server and to the AI services listed below. We use them to answer that request and don't keep them. Your saved groups and settings stay in your browser. The Mac app can keep a copy of your open tabs in your own iCloud, which we can't read, so you can see them on your iPhone.
When you sign in, we receive your name and email address from the sign-in method you choose (Google, GitHub, Apple, or an email link). We use your email address to identify your account and link the sign-in methods you use. You can use interTabs as a guest without an account; guests can't use the features that need our server, such as auto-grouping, AI Organize, and automatic group names.
When interTabs groups or names tabs for you, the extension sends our server information about the tabs involved:
Addresses are sent without their query string (the part after "?", which can hold search terms or tokens), and the AI services receive no more than the title and address. We use this information only to answer that request. We don't store it, add it to your account, or use it to train AI models. interTabs doesn't see incognito tabs unless you allow it in incognito in Chrome's extension settings.
We count how many times you use AI Organize each week and how many auto-grouping requests you make each day, to apply the limits of your plan. Our server logs record the number of tabs and groups in each request and how long it took, but not their titles or addresses.
If you subscribe to Premium on our website, Stripe processes your payment. We receive your Stripe customer ID and your subscription's status and renewal date. If you subscribe in the Mac app, Apple processes your payment through the App Store. We receive the transaction's ID and your subscription's status and renewal date, linked to your interTabs account. We never receive or store your full card details.
Your saved groups, settings, and sign-in session are stored by the extension in your browser and are not sent to us. Some settings use Chrome's built-in sync, which Google handles under its own privacy policy if you have Chrome sync turned on.
The interTabs Mac app shows the tabs open in your browsers. The interTabs extensions on your Mac send it the titles, addresses, and icons of your open tabs, not including private windows. This stays on your Mac and isn't sent to us.
iCloud tab sync: unless you turn it off in the Mac app's Settings, the Mac app saves the titles, addresses, and icon addresses of your open web pages, with your Mac's name, to your own iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit private database). interTabs Connect on your iPhone or iPad reads them from there. When you use Open on Mac, the iPhone app saves a short request in your iCloud that your Mac reads and deletes, and while the iPhone app is open it notes that in your iCloud so your Mac responds quickly. We can't access any of this; Apple stores it under its own privacy policy. Turning sync off removes that Mac's tabs from iCloud.
Your account in the apps: if you sign in to the Mac app, or it uses your sign-in from the Safari extension, it keeps that sign-in in your Mac's keychain and uses it to show your plan and to link App Store purchases to your account. The iPhone app doesn't use an account.
We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
We use the following providers to run interTabs. Each processes information only as needed to provide its service to us, under its own privacy policy.
Our website and server run on Cloudflare, which handles every request the extension and website make, including the tab information in Section 2.2. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Supabase stores your account information and handles sign-in, including sending email sign-in links. If you sign in with Google, GitHub, or Apple, that company also handles your sign-in. See Supabase's privacy policy.
Stripe processes subscription payments made on our website. See Stripe's privacy policy. Apple processes subscriptions bought in the Mac app, and stores the tabs the Mac app syncs to your iCloud. See Apple's privacy policy.
We send the tab information in Section 2.2 to these AI services, without your name, email address, or account details:
We may disclose information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities, or to protect the rights and safety of interTabs and its users. If interTabs is sold or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
Information is sent over encrypted connections, and access to our database is limited to our server and administrators. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
We keep your account information and subscription history while your account exists. Tab information isn't stored on our server after your request is answered. Tabs synced to your iCloud stay there until you turn off sync in the Mac app or delete them in your iCloud settings. Server logs are kept for a few days. When you delete your account, we delete your account information, except billing records we must keep by law.

You can delete your account in the interTabs Mac app's Settings. To exercise these rights or delete your account otherwise, email us at hi@intertabs.com. To remove the information stored in your browser, uninstall the extension.
interTabs is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version on this page and update the date above. For significant changes, we'll also let you know by email, in the extension, or in the apps.
